san francisco, las vegas, new york, pittsburgh, delhi, mumbai, tel aviv, goa, bangalore – you can find those souls that wander around and find themselves on the underground – dancing – dreaming – dancing – soul – soul – soul

minus-Cosmopolitan

Pittsburgh is a city which has no cosmopolitan sensibility. I think any Californian who migrates to Pittsburgh will reach a point of uneasiness. All those cosmopolitan vibes which flow so freely throughout the Bay area are thoroughly appreciated and missed. In Pittsburgh there’s no flowing of energies but in it’s place racial, social, and cultural fragmentation. I don’t think this city was ever transformed by the civil rights movement and people seem totally unaware to it’s underlying present reality. Racial, social, and cultural divides plague the city and those eccentric transients which sometimes bloom into life seem such a rarity. Foreign students travel from all across the world to attend universities in this city but that’s about it. Professionals and students, but very little artists or art. I’m thankful that Haifa and San Francisco are on the horizon. Pittsburgh is an o.k. place to study but it’s just bane these days.
