Life Update

October 5, 2008

It’s 2am, Saturday night, and I’m situated at my parent’s home here in Cupertino, California listening to vocal-backed drum and bass on Dark Wax Radio. Life is comforting with the awareness that Manisha rests in her warm bed taking a Sunday nap . Myself, I can’t recall the last time I was awake this late sipping green tea and chilling out to lush dreamy afterhours music such as the likes of Bally Sagoo: Tum Bin Jaya (Grooverider Remix).

Currently I’m wearing a teal colored tshirt and grey shorts with white stripes. It’s as if I iron my cotton tshirts just so that I am fashionable for bedtime. Yes.

I’m working at Enterprise, and I really enjoy the job. My entire team is wicked: Kenny Lim, Mitchell Wong, Matt O’Malley and Ryan Taylor. My area manager Kunal Sinha and regional manager Greg Jackson are also both well respected. I enjoy making business deals, keeping it professional and having fun with my team. Our branch manager Kenny is pure hustler and I’m learning a lot from his management style and game play. Ryan, our assistant manager reminds me of myself in ways with his mellow yet professional disposition. Mitch Wong is a fun and effective communicator who knows how to make you feel good. Matt is just charismatic making deals as I roll up into our parking lot in yet another car. Overall, everyone is trying to make things happen everyday at work and I’m happy to be where I am.

My winter intrigue is foresoughtthrough my return to India in January of the new year. I want to travel and share experiences in the Himalayas, Delhi cityscapes and Goa beachsides exclusively with Manisha Ji. I’m look forward to this slight-epic that we will be sharing with one another: she is the solar system of the universe in human form. In her presence I dream to seek out seek mystic junglistic landscapes which are lit by the white full moon as we sleep under the galaxial stars upon mountain peaks of Rudra. Clearly, I never stop dreaming and making those dreams come true as a dreammaster.

  Here I am. October 4th.

Sky Life

July 27, 2008

When I say sky life, I mean blue sky life.

I’m inspired to live lounge these days, that is, when I leave the office after nine hours I’m ready to really chill out. Chill out is more than a sub-genre of electronic dance music, it’s actually a mood that was so common to antiquity but grows increasingly foreign to us moderns. It’s a luxury today in some ways, but for archaic peoples it was a way of life. Music as the bridge between the jiva and infinite brahman.

I’ve been contemplating my lifeway in relation to the wisdom of the Vedas. Hindu philosophy from it’s beginning has always recognized the realness of class and and in some ways responsible for perpetuating for better or for worse. Today I’m living my life within the bounds of society as a means to introduce my own ideas of well being.

I can’t change the entire world myself, but I can promote and influence well being for the peoples in my life. Actually I want to give you energy, I want to give you everything.

Peculiar Sound

February 24, 2008

I was never able to see the movie ‘Drawing Restraint 9′ featuring Bjork but I am listening to the soundtrack. The music brings me back to the sound realm I was introduced to through San Francisco sound artist & my former music professor Roddy Schrock.  As a matter of fact now is a wonderful time to subscribe to his podcast, Fundamentally Soundcast. I like how he’s so attuned to fundamentals, maybe due to his time in Japan. The Japanese seem extremely fundamental in general.    Anyways, I’m re-orientating myself towards experimental (whatever that is) and click jazz, mainly through DJ Krush from Japan.  The last few weeks I’ve been listening to mainly alot of chill out, ambient, and jazzy San Francisco style house but I need something a little more strange for a return to my true aesthetic appreciations. Well being and sound are fundamental today.    I found a great site tonight, Jetnumbers, which will work with Skypein providing a number in Tel Aviv, Israel  so that Mor can call me from her פלאפון. Long distance relationships are becoming easier and easier!

New CD

January 6, 2008

Today, after returning from an Arabic car wash with picturesque views of the Mediterranean I stopped off at the Haifa Carmel Bus Station as I waited for bus 123, Neve Shaanan. There, I stopped off at Tower Records and picked up the 1996 Faithless album, Reverence.

A few days ago I saw the video for ‘Insomnia’ revitalizing my love for Faithless that all began with ‘God Is a DJ’. I can’t believe it’s taken so long to pick up the album. I remember I first encountered the song on a Cathay Pacific flight to Hong Kong en-route to Mumbai, India. I would encounter the video for the song about a month later while experiencing insomnia at Hotel Tip Top.

It’s a well done album that peaks out on track 11, The Way Out West mix of Salva Mea. Maxi Jazz’s lyrics are simply simplistic and truthful. It’s refreshing to hear poetic raps against danceable house tracks. Beautiful… I can’t remember the last time I purchased a CD.
